The Olpe Lady Eagles blazed their way past the Burlingame Bearkats 69-24 in the first round of the Wabaunsee Sub State tournament.
The Lady Eagles jumped out to a 20-0 lead in the first six minutes of the game and never looked back. Olpe was led in scoring by senior Brianna Vogts, in her final home game as an eagle, with 20 points. Vogts also reached a milestone scoring her 1,451st point in an Eagles jersey.
Burlingame was led by freshman Megan Giffin with 8 points and junior Morgyn Heyne with six.
Olpe head coach Jesse Nelson says despite some time off he felt his team was very strong offensively.
With the win Olpe now advances to the semi-finals of the Wabaunsee Sub State tournament. They will play Jackson Heights Thursday night at 6pm.
Jackson Heights out scored Madison 45-28.
The other semi-final has Jefferson County North playing Wabaunsee.
Wabaunsee defeated Northern Heights 54-20. Jefferson County North defeated Lyndon 61-30.
In 1A play at Hartford.
Marais des Cygnes Valley defeated Altoona Midway 49-21 in the girls game and 61-52 in the boys game.
The Marais des Cygnes Valley boys next play Hartford Thursday night.
The Marais des Cygnes Valley girls play Hartford Friday night.

The Osage City boys defeated Wellsville 62-60. They will play Jayhawk Linn Thursday.
Wellsville out scored the Osage City girls 79-31.
McLouth defeated Mission Valley boys 58-35.
