The Olpe Lady Eagles surged in the second half to defeat the Jackson Heights Cobras 57-36 in the Wabaunsee sub-state semi final.
Olpe struggled to create separation on the scoreboard through the first half as they encountered a determined Jackson Heights defense. The Eagles led by nine at half time, and In the third quarter they would establish a 20 point lead and never look back en-route to their semi-finals victory.
Olpe was led by sophomore Neleh Davis with 16 points and senior Briana Vogts with 13.
Olpe Head Coach Jesse Nelson feels their practice for the cobra defense didn’t transfer over to the game.
Jackson Heights was led by sophomore Kylie Dohl with 11 points.
Olpe will play Jefferson County North in the Wabaunsee sub-state championship game on Saturday. Jefferson County North defeated Wabaunsee 57-56.
