The Emporia State softball team Split their doubleheader with Pittsburg State Friday.
The Lady Hornets won the first game of their doubleheader 8-0. The Lady Hornets scored 2 runs in the 2nd inning on a Katy Rae Nordman sacrifice fly and a Cassidy Beem single. Danielle Sprinkle hit a 3 run homerun in the 3rd and added a solo homerun in the 5th. Destiney Ojigoh singled in a run and Katy Rae Nordman double in a run in the 5th inning.
Pittsburg State won the 2nd game 11-9. Emporia State jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the 1st with RBI double from Danielle Sprinkle and a 2 runs single from Annie Rockley. Caitlyn VanVleck drove in 2 runs in the 4th inning. Emporia State added 4 runs in the 5th highlighted by a 2 run homerun from Destiny Ojigoh. Pittsburg State scored 2 runs in the 1st, 3 runs in the 4th, 4 runs in the 5th and 2 runs in the 6th. The Emporia State softball team plays at Missouri Southern Saturday.
