At the 1A Division II tournament in Dodge City the Hartford girls defeated Axtell 53-40 to advance to the championship game in their first ever State Tournament appearance.
The Jaguars jumped out to a 14-10 lead after the first quarter. Axtell would take a 22-21 lead at halftime. In the 3rd quarter Hartford out scored Axtel 17-8 to take a 38-30 lead into the 4th quarter. In the final 8 minutes Hartford out scored Axtell 15-10 for the 13 point win. Coach Ryan Thomas said defense was the difference.
Morgan Bolen and Maizie Schroder both finished 14 points to led Hartford. Bailey Darbshire added 13 points. They will play Quinter in the Championship game Saturday. Quinter defeated Cunningham 36-22.

At the 4A Division II tournament it will be Baldwin vs Andale in the girls Championship game.
Baldwin defeated Hugoton 60-47. Andale out scored Marysville 48-38 in the semi-finals
In the boys Championship game it will be Holcomb vs Topeka Hayden.
Holcomb, the defending 4A Champion, out scored Parsons 66-62 and Hayden defeated Andale 55-45. in the semi-finals.
