The Royals on Monday night made their first round of camp reductions, which included optioning infielder Hunter Dozier and right-hander Kyle Zimmer to Triple-A Omaha.
Also optioned to Omaha: right-handers Scott Barlow, Heath Fillmyer and Andres Machado and left-hander Eric Stout.
The Texas Rangers out scored a Kansas City Royals split squad 5-1 Monday night. The Royals also defeated the San Diego Padres 4-0. The Royals are now 8-9 for the Spring.
