A bunt single in the bottom of the 11th drove in the winning run for Missouri Western as the Griffions edged the Emporia State baseball team 7-6 Tuesday night.
The Hornets struck first scoring two runs in the first inning. Western scored single runs in the 2nd and 4th innings. Western took the lead with 2 runs in the 6th. Emporia State rallied, scoring 4 runs in the top of the 9th. Brian Grove drove in 2 runs with a triple to give the Hornets a 6-4 lead. Western tied the game in the bottom of the 9th and scored the winning run in the bottom of the 11th. The Hornets fall to 13-10 for the season and 4-6 in MIAA play. They will play a 3 game series at Missouri Southern beginning Friday.
