Trevor Turners’ 2 run homerun in the top of the 9th lifted the Emporia State baseball team to a 6-4 win over Missouri Southern Friday.
Southern scored the games 1st run on a homerun in the 1st inninng.
Emporia State scored 2 runs in the top of the 2nd on a Kaden Shaffer homerun and RBI double by Trevor Turner.
Southern scored 3 runs in the bottom of the 2nd to take a 4-2 lead.
Emporia State tied the game in the 7th on an RBI double by Tate Kastens and a Mack Gowing single.
Trevor Turner would give the lead back to Emporia State with his 2 run homerun in the 9th.
The Hornets and Lions play game 2 of their 3 game series Saturday afternoon.
