The Emporia State softball team split a doubleheader with Northeastern State Wednesday.
Emporia State walked off with a 4-3 win over Northeastern State in 9 innings in game 1. Katy Rae Nordman singled to deep centerfield driving in Kenzie Garvin for the win.
Emporia State scored 2 runs in the bottom of the 7th to tie the game. Danielle Sprinkle hit a solo homerun in the 5th.
Northeastern State won Game 2 4-3. Northeastern scored all 4 runs in the 4th inning. Emporia State scored single runs in the 3rd, 5th and 7th innings. Coach April Huddleston-Rosales said they show some fight.
Emporia State hosts Washburn Friday. Game 2 of the doubleheader is scheduled to be broadcast on KVOE 1400AM/96.9FM.
