The Emporia State baseball team won game 2 of a 3 game series with Fort Hays State 12-4 Friday night.
Fort Hays scored a run in the 1st inning. Emporia State would score 2 runs in the 2nd, a run in the 3rd, 3 runs in the 4th and put the game out of reach with 4 runs in the 7th. Kaden Shaffer was 3 for 5 with 2 RBI and 2 runs scored. Bryce Fischer was 3 for 4 with an RBI and 2 runs scored. Brian Grove and Taylor Sanagorski each drove in 2 runs. Tanner Cairns was the winning pitcher going 8 innings giving up 4 runs on 8 hits with 3 strikeouts and 2 walks.
The Hornets go for the sweep Saturday afternoon. First pitch is set for 12:00p. The game will be broadcast on MIX 104.9.
