The Emporia High boys golf team opened their season with a first place finish at El Dorado Monday.
Individually Colin Hopkins took medalist honors with a 82. Gentry Scheve finished in 2nd place with a 83. Caleb Schmidt finished 3rd with an 85 and Connor Hoyt finished 5th with an 88. As a team Emporia High finished with a 338. The Spartans are scheduled to play in the Washburn Rural invitational Thursday.
