(wwo) Behind 31 bench points from Donte DiVincenzo, Villanova captured the 2018 Mens College Basketball National Championship with a 79-62 win over Michigan Monday night.
DiVincenzo was named the Most Outstanding player of the Final Four.
Trailing 21-14 early in the first half, the Wildcats went on a 23-7 run to lead 37-28 at halftime. Jay Wright’s squad picked up right where it left off in the second half, leading by as many as 22.
Michigan Coach John Beilein said they were forced to play 1 on 1.
Villanova claimed its third National Championship in program history and second in the last three years.
