An Emporia man was badly hurt when his pickup collided with a semi on the Kansas Turnpike on Wednesday.
The Kansas Highway Patrol crash log says a truck driven by 54-year-old Kenneth Main of Emporia hit the trailer of a semi driven by 33-year-old Michael Milton of Haysville shortly after noon. The crash happened near mile marker 94, three miles southwest of the Matfield Green service area and 33 miles southwest of the Emporia tollgate.
The Highway Patrol says Main failed to stop as Milton’s semi was turning right into a staging area.
Main was taken to Wesley Medical Center in Wichita for treatment. He’s listed in critical condition. Milton was listed as injured but was not hospitalized afterward.
