Seniors and Emporia State athletes dusted off their dancin’ boots for a night of celebration Thursday evening at Memorial Union’s Webb Hall.
The 11th annual Senior Prom invited residents over 55 for a night of dancing to country music with the theme “Boot-Scootin’ Boogie” and included a photo booth and music provided by the band Unchained. ESU track athlete Luke Stenzel says it’s a popular event that athletes look forward to each year.
Emporia Place Community Relations Manager Janet Haag calls it one of the best intergenerational events in Emporia.
The event was presented by the Student Athlete Advisory Committee.
