Two Emporia High students will continue their track careers at Emporia State University in the fall.
EHS seniors Kaitlyn Karjala and Brent Hastert will be the newest additions to the ESU track team after signing their letters of intent to attend ESU Thursday afternoon.
During high school, Karjala has competed in both cross country and track and was a member of the 2017 all-area girls cross country team. She says she is excited to continue her career on her home turf.
Hastert was a three-sport athlete for EHS competing in football, basketball and track where he has been a multi-time state qualifier. He says running at the college level is a dream come true.
Karjala and Hastert are the 81st and 82nd signees for the EHS track program.
