Trial is set to begin Monday for Sony Uk.
The Emporia man faces a single count of first-degree murder in the death of his girlfriend, Mahogany Brooks, in March 2017. Brooks was allegedly shot several times with a shotgun at her apartment at 1325 Merchant.
Jury selection begins Monday morning, with opening statements shortly after he jury is seated. Trial is currently set to last a week in Lyon County District Court, although it may extend into the following week.
