Emporia city commissioners will consider several infrastructure agreements and contracts during Wednesday’s action meeting.
Among the agenda items, commissioners will consider a KDOT agreement for the 2019 CClip project. The project will see the city agreeing to complete the work within existing right-of-ways and the roadway approaches involving the mill and overlay and pavement marking of K-99/Commercial Street from Kansas Ave. to 3rd Ave and from 12th Ave to Interstate 35. The project is estimated to cost the city about $250,000.
Commissioners will also consider awarding nearly $460,000 in bids to a Killough Construction of Ottawa for the 2018 Street Rehabilitation Project as well as a $62,000 bid to Emporia Construction and Remodeling for pavement work at the Public Works Center and permanent water line easements from Emporia Enterprises, Simmons and Eastgate Plaza for Industrial Park III.
In addition, a bond issuance for Emporia Presbyterian Manor and an ordinance for alcohol sales at the Glass Blown Open event are both being considered. Commissioners will also make appointments to both the CVB and Emporia Library boards. One executive session is also scheduled.
Wednesday’s meeting begins at 7 p.m. in Conference Room 1AB at White Auditorium.
