(kcchiefs) The Kansas City Chiefs made another addition on Monday, signing free agent running back Kerwynn Williams. The Chiefs also began phase 1 of their offseason program
Williams entered the NFL as a seventh-round pick of the Indianapolis Colts in 2013 and appeared in one game that ensuing season. He was waived following his rookie campaign and signed with the Arizona Cardinals, where he went on to rush for 971 yards and four touchdowns over his four-year stint with the team.
Phase 1 of the offseason is strictly for weightlifting and conditioning—there’s no work taking place on the field between coaches and players, although players and can get together and work out on their own. This is also the beginning of the Patrick Mahomes era. Coach Andy Reid says Mahomes has become a student of the game.
Tightend Travis Kelce has been impressed with Mahomes.
Patrick Mahomes says he is excited to get started and believes they have a chance to be good.
