After day 1 of the multi events at the KU relays Emporia States Payson Maydew is in 5th place and Tanner Raubenstine is in seventh place in the decathlon. In the heptathlon Brianna Schmitz is in 5th place.
Emporia State will also have 17 athletes competing in 10 events Thursday.
