Everything is in place for the latest round of water system improvements for northwest Lyon County.
County commissioners signed off on a so-called “concurrence of agreements” with contractors during their action meeting Thursday. Commissioner Dan Slater represents northwest Lyon County and says this is a good project for residents.
Rural Water District No. 1 has obtained a $500,000 Community Development Block Grant to install a new water tower in Bushong as well as new lines impacting Allen and Admire as well. This is the latest phase of water work in northwest Lyon County, with earlier work focusing on new lines for Americus.
Slater says construction is beginning soon.
Both projects could be done this year.
