The Emporia Lions Club has announced the recipients of four grants through the Cleve Cook Memorial Fund:
*Lyon County 4H is being funded for student transportation to Rock Spring Ranch. 4H is also receiving a grant for the 4H Science of Ag Challenge.
*Jim Cooper is receiving a grant to start an aquaponics grow bed system.
*The Lyon County Kansas Seed Savers and Plant Exchange receives money to expand what the group can grow, give and share.
The fund honors Cleve Cook and his wife, Mildred, who were lifelong Emporians. Cleve Cook was involved in agriculture and ag-related pursuits for his whole life. He was also active in the Lions Club.
