The Emporia High baseball team picked up 2 run rule victories over Highland Park Friday. They won the first game 15-0 in 4 innings and won the 2nd game 16-6 in 5 innings.
In first game Eric Hertlein tossed a no hitter.
In the second game the Spartans scored 7 runs in the 3rd inning to take a 8-1 lead. Highland Park would score 6 runs in the 4th to cut the Spartan lead to 8-6. Emporia High would end the game with 6 runs in the 6th. Jace Stewart was 3 for 4 with 3 RBI and scored 3 runs.
Riley Wagner was 4 for 4 with 2 RBI and 2 runs scored. The Spartans with the sweep are now 4-6. They play at Manhattan on Tuesday.
