The Emporia State softball team is the 8th seed in the MIAA tournament and will open against number 1 seed Washburn Thursday in Oklahoma City.
The Lady Hornets are the hottest team going into the the tournament having won their last 9 games. Coach April Rosales said they trusted the process.
Emporia State will face either Northwest Missouri State or Missouri Western in their 2nd round game. In the other first round games Central Oklahoma plays Northeastern State and Central Missouri faces Lindenwood. The winner of the MIAA tournament received the automatic bid from the MIAA to the NCAA regional tournament.
