Tim was born in Lawrence, KS., which he consider’s “God’s country.” He moved to Topeka at age 7. Then, after graduating from Shawnee Heights High school, he attended the University of Kansas, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in broadcast sales.
Tim’s love of radio developed at KY while serving as the play-by-play voice for the Lady Jayhawk basketball team and doing home games for men’s basketball and football on the student radio station. He also worked in the KU sports information office for 4 years.
Upon graduating in May of 1987, Tim began his radio career at KEGS-FM in Emporia (now KVOE-FM. While there Tim worked in advertising sales and served as play-by-play voice for Emporia State University. He began work at KVOE in October of 1988 in sales and as the voice of the Emporia High Spartans.
Tim married his wife Angie in 1988 and they have one daughter, Lauren.
