Emporians are urged to take time Wednesday to get out of the office by walking at lunch.
Emporia State University and Healthier Lyon County are inviting everyone to Blue Cross Blue Shield’s National Walk at Lunch Day at Memorial Union Square. Healthier Lyon County Spokesperson Daphne Mertens says the simple activity is an important one.
ESU Director of Recreation Services Mike Wise says they are excited once again to be participating.
The pre-event will start at 11 a.m., with the walk running from noon to 1 p.m. Wise says the first 50 participants to show up will also get a free t-shirt.
