Rain or shine, the community is encouraged to attend Wednesday’s Relay for Life of the Flint Hills kickoff event.
Activities will be from 11 am to 1 pm inside Central Care Cancer Center, 1401 West 12th. Relay for Life organizer and spokesperson Cherie Crisp says Wednesday’s fundraiser will also feature lunch, early team sign-up opportunities and tours.
Relay for Life officially takes place Sept. 8 at the Bowyer Community Building. The event raises funds for cancer research. It also generates money for wigs, turbans, trips for medical treatments and volunteer training.
