The Emporia State softball team opens play in the MIAA tournament in Oklahoma City Thursday. The Lady Hornets face number 1 seed Washburn in their first round game at 5pm.
The Lady Hornets take a 9 game winning streak into the tournament, Senior outfielder Caitlyn VanVleck says they need to keep playing with the same determination.
Senior first baseman Danielle Sprinkle says they need to stay consistent.
The Lady Hornets will also play a second round game Thursday night and will face either Northwest Missouri State or Missouri Western. The winner of the MIAA tournament receives the MIAAs automatic NCAA tournament bid.
