A major expansion is likely in the works for an international business with a significant local presence.
Cargill, Inc., is one step closer to starting construction on a nearly 51,000 square-foot expansion to its animal nutrition facility at 841 Graphic Arts. Cargill is planning to add a warehouse and invest $4 million in this project.
The expansion was announced during a special meeting of the Regional Development Association’s Board of Directors on Friday. The recommendation includes performance-based incentives including a 10-year tax abatement. RDA President Kent Heermann says it’s a move that’s been in discussion for some time.
The expansion reflects significant and ongoing increases in demand for Cargill products. The company says it has made major investments in equipment and has added jobs as a result locally since 2016.
