The Emporia State baseball team opened a 3 game series with Northeastern State with a 8-1 win Friday night.
Seth Holman pitched a complete game giving up the 1 run on 6 hits with 11 strikeouts.
The Hornets scored the 8 runs on 6 hits and took advantage of 4 Northeastern errors. Brian grove hit a 2 run homerun in the 6th to give the Hornets a 6-1 lead.
The Hornets and Riverhawks play game 2 Saturday afternoon with first pitch set for 2pm. The game will be broadcast on MIX 104.9 and on-line at kvoe.com and via the MIX mobile app.
