An Emporia man charged in an alleged kidnapping and beating incident from last fall will wait a while longer for his preliminary hearing.
Andrew Granado appeared in front of Lyon County District Judge Douglas Jones Monday, who granted a continuance in the case. Granado will now appear at 3 p.m. June 27. Granado is charged with aggravated kidnapping, aggravated battery, conspiracy on those counts and aggravated robbery. Granado is one of two adults charged in the case that involved a juvenile victim Nov. 18.
Meanwhile, two of the five juvenile defendants being tried as adults, are due in court Tuesday. Selena Hernandez has a hearing scheduled for 11 a.m and Jonathon Manzano at 1:15 p.m. Both are expected to enter into plea agreements. A third juvenile, Armando Nunez has a preliminary hearing scheduled for 1:15 p.m. Thursday.
The other adult in the case, Samuel Garcia was sentenced Friday to seven years in prison for his involvement.
