READING — The Reading City Council and USD 251 North Lyon County Board of Education will formally start discussions on the future of Reading School this week.
Mayor Todd Hensley tells KVOE News the topic will be on the City Council’s agenda for its meeting Thursday evening. The school board recently voted to close the school as a cost-saving measure, ending at least two decades of speculation about the school’s future while continuing talk about the district’s future as a whole.
Reading School will now formally close June 30.
Thursday’s meeting is at 7 pm at Reading City Hall.
