(ESU) Emporia State’s Danielle Sprinkle garnered the final Louisville/Slugger NFCA Division II National Player of the Week honor of 2018.
Sprinkle had a .714 batting average helping lead the Hornets to the MIAA Tournament Championship. She was ten for 14 with two doubles, a home run and seven RBI.
The Lady Hornets are preparing this week for next weeks NCAA Central Regional tournament. Tournament pairings will be announced on Monday at 9am. The softball team will hold a watch party Monday in the Hyper building in room 202.
In this weeks regional rankings Winona State is the top ranked team. Southern Arkansas is ranked 2nd followed by Augustana. Washburn is ranked 7th and Central Oklahoma 8th. The Northern Sun and Great American Conferences are holding their post season tournaments this weekend.
