The MIAA outdoor Track and Field Championships begin Friday in Kearney, Nebraska with the multi-events.
In the decathlon Payson Maydew is seeded number 2 and Tanner Raubenstien is seeded 7th. In the Heptathlon Brianna Schmidt is seeded number 4 and Clara Eilert is seeded number 11. The track prelims and field events will be held beginning Saturday. The Finals will be held Sunday.
Emporia State will have 3 number 1 seeds Taysean Goodwin in the 400. The mens 4 by 100 and 4 by 400 relays. Goodwin is joined by Colin Coleman, Jordan Reed and Duke Tibbs in the 4 by 100 relay. Goodwin is joined by Paker Evans, Luke Stenzel and Duke Tibbs in the 4 by 400 relay.
Goodwin is also seeded 4th in the 200 meter dash.
Duke Tibbs is seeded 2nd in the 400 and 3rd in the 200 meter dash
Thomas LaRoche is seeded 3rd in the 800.
Wyatt Sander is 3rd in the 400 hurdles.
Brian Newkirk is seeded 4th in the 10,000.
Alec Garcia is seeded 6th in the shotput and 7th in the discus.
Murad Baheyadeen is ranked 10th in the 800.
For the Emporia State women Leah Nelson is seeded 3rd in the 800.
The womens 4 by 100 relay team of Jazmin Williams, Hannah Shield, Malacia Lee and Lati Yeargin is seeded number 2.
Yeargin is seeded 5th in the 100 meter dash and 17th in the 200 meter dash.
Hannah Shield is seeded 6th in the 100 meter dash and 15th in the 200 meter dash.
The womens 4 by 400 relay team of Kelsey Graber, Brianna Schmitz, Jazmin Williams and Elizabeth Blevins is seeded 6th.
Blevins will also be running in the 400 meter dash.
