EUREKA — Greenwood County deputies are investigating what Sheriff Heath Samuels calls a hit-and-run incident that led to some tense moments in downtown Eureka last weekend.
This past Sunday, deputies responded to the alley behind Eureka City Library, after a report of a popping sound and a loud hiss. The sound was the result of what deputies say was a large gas leak coming from a ruptured meter. Deputies then blocked traffic until Eureka Fire could plug the leak.
Samuels says there is no information now on the suspected driver or the vehicle allegedly involved in this incident. If you have information that can help authorities, call the Greenwood County Sheriff’s Office at 620-583-5568.
