The Emporia High softball team held on for a 4-3 win over Andover Central Saturday in the Round Ball Classic.
Paige Thomas hit a solo home run in the first and another one in the 3rd to give the Lady Spartans an early 2-0 lead.
Payten Redeker drove in 2 runs with a single in the 4th inning to give Emporia High a 4-0 lead. Andover Central would try to rally in the 9th scoring 3 runs before the 3rd out was recorded. The Emporia High softball team is now 10-8 and will close out the regular season hosting Topeka High next Thursday.
In Saturdays other game in the Round Ball Classic:
Garden City out scored Kapaun 19-7.
Blue Valley Southwest shut out Dodge City 15-0.
