The Emporia High Softball team was out scored by Garden City 8-4 Friday night in the Round Ball Classic.
Both teams scored a run in the 1st inning. Garden City took a 2-1 lead in the 3rd inning. Emporia High tied the game in the top of the 4th. In the bottom of the 4th Garden City scored 4 runs to take the lead for good. Emporia Highs Payten Redeker hit a solo homerun in the 5th. The Lady Spartans added a run in the top of the 7th. Emporia High Coach Troy Chapman said it came down to pitching and hitting.
The Lady Spartans play Andover Central Saturday at 1pm.
