The Kansas City Royals scored 4 runs in the 8th inning and held on for a 4-2 win over the Detroit Tigers Friday night.
The Royals scored a run on a wild pitch, a Whit Merrifield sacrafice fly and 2 runs on a Jorge Soler single. Detroit scored both of their runs in the top of the 8th. Blaine Boyer, the 3rd pitcher used by the Royals, earned his first win. Kelvin Herrera picked up his 6th save. The Royals and Tigers play again Saturday afternoon with first pitch at 3:15.
