The Emporia School Board will have an extended meeting this week as they look ahead to some of the district’s goals moving forward.
Wednesday’s meeting at Mary Herbert begins at 5:40 p.m. to accommodate a goal-setting session with Kansas Association of School Boards Deputy Director Doug Moeckel. The meeting will look at priorities and focus areas for the district to achieve short-term and long-term success.
In addition, the school board is scheduled to begin the process of considering a recommendation to hire a new Emporia High School wrestling coach. This comes after the board voted to table the hiring at its April 25 meeting to allow more time to gather information. An executive session regarding personnel matters is on the agenda.
The board also plans to consider a summer project to replace the loading dock at Logan Avenue Elementary.
