HARTFORD — Three Burlington residents were hurt during a rollover crash in southeast Lyon County on Monday night.
The wreck happened in the 300 block of Road V, about seven miles south of Hartford, around 7:15 pm. The Kansas Highway Patrol says 29-year-old Rebecca Nicole Dwight was southbound when she lost control of her SUV for currently unlisted reasons. The vehicle then rolled into a ditch.
LifeTeam Midwest airlifted Dwight to Stormont-Vail Hospital in Topeka. The hospital has not released her condition. Emporia rescue workers took two young children, 7-year-old Aiyanna Dwight and 5-year-old Ben Dwight, to Newman Regional Health in Emporia for care and treatment. The hospital does not release patient conditions to the media.
All three people were wearing seatbelts. The Kansas Highway Patrol’s online crash log does not confirm whether any crash victims are related.

Three people were injured following a one-vehicle crash in southeast Lyon County Monday.
Emergency personnel were dispatched shortly before 7:30 p.m. to Road V, about a half mile south of Road 40. While it’s not clear yet how the crash occurred, an SUV veered off the road and into the east ditch. Emporia Fire Captain Tony Fuller tells KVOE News at least one adult patient was transported by Life Team helicopter to Stormont Vail Health in Topeka for treatment of injuries. Two minor children were also transported by ambulance to Newman Regional Health. The extent of their injuries is unknown.
Further details are pending. The Kansas Highway Patrol is investigating. Emporia Fire and Rescue, Hartford and Neosho Rapids fire and members of the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office assisted.
