The Emporia State softball team is preparing for their 13th NCAA Regional Tournament appearance. The Lady Hornets are the 8th seed and will face Winona State the number 1 seed in the Central Regional.
Emporia State has won 13 of their last 14 games. Coach April Rosales says they need to keep playing the way they have been playing.
The Lady Hornets lost to Winona State 8-7 in 11 innings in a game played in Emporia in March. Sophomore pitcher Kelsey Phillips says they have to stay focused on game 1 of the regional.
Senior Danielle Sprinkle says they dont need to change a thing.
Senior Caitlyn VanVleck is expecting no surprises.
First pitch Thursday in Winona, Minnesota is set for 1pm. The game will be broadcast on MIX 104.9.
