The ESU Baseball team advanced to the second round of the MIAA tournament with a 15-2 victory over Northwest Missouri State.
The Hornets touched up Bearcat starter Joseph Hietpas for seven runs in one and two-thirds innings — and reliever Jacob Wagner for seven runs in a third of an inning — to lead 13-0 after the first two innings. Designated hitter Kyle Lopez drove in three runs; and Mack Gowing, Bryce Fisher, Mason Brown, and Kaden Shaffer each drove in two runs. ESU will play Central Missouri at 4 pm Friday.
