Seven Emporia State University baseball players received MIAA honors this season.
ESU pitcher Seth Holman was named the MIAA Pitcher of the Year. Holman was 6-3 on the year with a 3.79 ERA and 102 strikeouts with only nine walks in 95 innings. Holman is ranked third in the nation in strikeout to walk ratio. Holman is the only pitcher in Division II and joins Auburn’s Casey Mize as the only pitchers in the country regardless of NCAA Division with over 100 strikeouts and less than 10 walks on the season.
Holman is joined on the All MIAA First-Team by outfielder Bryce Fischer who leads the MIAA in on-base percentage and ranks second in batting average, slugging percentage and RBIs.
Pitcher Tanner Cairns and catcher Mason Brown were named to the Third-Team and first baseman Kaden Shaffer, second baseman Brian Grove and outfielder Mack Gowing earned honorable mentions with Brown, Shaffer and Fischer each earning a Gold Glove.
