The season came to an end for 5 members of the Emporia High boys tennis at State Friday.
The doubles team of Josh Stutler and Payton Harmon finished with a 1-2 record. Their win was over teammates Cameron Kienholz and Taylor Moorman. Kienholz and Moorman were 0-2 at State.
Brian Madirgal was 0-2 in singles play. The 5A state tennis tournament will wrap up Saturday on the Emporia High courts.
Emporia High State results:
Brian Madrigal lost to Devin McAfee of Pittsburg 6-1, 6-1. Lost to Trey Shepard of Topeka Seaman 9-3.
Payton Harmon and Josh Stutler – Lost to Ty Stranghower and Johhny Steven of Bishop Carrol 6-3, 6-2. Defeated Moorman and Kienholz 9-5. Lost to Jacob Hoffman and Jacob Brizendine of Mill Valley 9-0.
Taylor Moorman and Cameron Kienholz – Lost to McCabe Green and Chase Courbut of Salina Central 6-7, 6-4,(8-10).
