The Emporia State softball team will play Minnesota Duluth for a 3rd time at the NCAA Central Regional Tournament Sunday. This time the winner advances to the Central Super Regional.
Minnesota Duluth forced the if necessary championship game by out scoring the Lady Hornets 4-3 in the first championship game. Duluth took the early lead on a solo home run. Danielle Sprinkle tied the game with a home run.
Duluth retook the lead on a 3 run home run. Emporia State scored 2 runs to cut the deficit to 4-3. Coach April Rosales says they will be ready for championship game.
First pitch for the winner takes all championship game is set for 11am. The game will be broadcast on MIX 104.9. The winner advances to the Super Regional to be played May 17th and 18th against Southern Arkansas.
