OVERBROOK — Osage County EMS are congratulating Danielle and Dallas Schilling on the birth of their son Gunner over the weekend. And there’s a reason for that.
Osage County EMS and Overbrook Fire crews were dispatched to a woman in labor call around 11 pm Saturday. KVOE’s TV partner, WIBW in Topeka, says the couple were fishing at Overbrook City Lake when her water broke. They made it as far as Overbrook’s Grace Community Church before having to pull over.
Paramedics performed what’s known as “imminent delivery protocol” — and within five minutes Gunner was delivered, healthy and a shade over 6 pounds. Mom and baby were then taken to St. Francis Hospital in Topeka for additional care.
