The Tampa Bay Rays slid past the Kansas City Royals 2-1 Monday night.
Adeiny Hechavarria avoided a tag by catcher Salvador Perez to score the go ahead run. Whit Merrifield tied the game for the Royals with a solo home run in the 3rd inning. The Royals and Rays play again Tuesday night with first pitch set for 7:15p. The game will be broadcast on KVOE 1400AM/96.9FM.
