The Emporia High softball team was defeated by Topeka Seaman 16-1 in the regional championship game Tuesday.
The Lady Spartans scored the games first run but trailed 5-1 after the first inning and could never catch up.
Emporia High advanced to the regional championship game by rolling to a 14-0 win in 5 innings over Pittsburg. The Lady Spartans had a 8-0 lead after the 1st inning. They scored 3 of the runs on consecutive bases loaded walks. In the 2nd inning Payten Redeker hit a 3 run home run to give the Lady Spartans a 12-0 lead. They would lead 14-0 after 2 innings. Andie Wilson was the winning pitcher, tossing a 5 hit shutout with 9 strikeouts.
The Lady Spartans finish the season with a 13-9 record.
