KVOE honored their annual Emporia High and Area athletes and coaches of the year, on Saturday Morning Sportstalk, Saturday.
From Emporia High the male athlete was Brent Hastert and the female athlete was Abby Stewart. The Emporia High coach of the year was track and field coach Randy Wells.
The area athletes of the year were Damon Schmidt and Brianna Vogts from Olpe High School. Hartford High girls’ basketball coach Ryan Thomas was area coach of the year.
The area athletes all receive a $300 scholarship from KVOE.
