All eyes this weekend for many were on the royal wedding of Prince Harry to Meghan Markle.
While some Americans may scoff at the sheer interest for the British Monarchy, there’s no doubt the royal family has an impact on fashion. That is especially true of brides-to-be as seen right here in Emporia. In fact, Kari’s Bridal has already seen rousing interest from women inspired by the Duchess of Sussex. Bridal Manager Marci Lindsay says their phones began ringing by Saturday afternoon.
Lindsay says she was surprised to not see the so-called “Markle Sparkle” with the Duchess instead opting for a more simple look.

Lindsay says the influence will likely be felt at weddings for a while.
It’s already heating up to be a busy wedding season with more June, July and August weddings lined up in the Emporia area. Lindsay says they are lucky to be model dresses and other outfits after what was seen during Saturday’s ceremony, albeit at a much more affordable price.
Kari’s Bridal also assists with tuxedo rental, formalwear, wedding gifts and jewelry.
