Emporia Police are investigating an injury accident involving a bicycle and a second vehicle early Wednesday, and officers are asking for public help as the case moves forward.
Police Sgt. Lisa Sage says 35-year-old Bradley Renfro suffered an apparently significant head injury as a result of this incident. Renfro told officers he had been holding onto a friend’s truck while riding his bike. The truck may have hit a bump or hole. Regardless, Renfro lost control of his bike, fell down and hit his head.
Renfro says his friend, the truck’s driver, took him to Newman Regional Health for treatment but apparently left before hospital staff reported the accident to police.
Renfro was later airlifted to an unlisted hospital for additional treatment. His friend’s name has not been determined.
