Council Groves Lauren Carlson earned the only Gold medal for Emporia area athletes at State Saturday.
Lauren finished in first place in the 200 meter dash.
Carlson also finished in 2nd place in the 100 meter dash and was part of the Council Grove Girls 4 by 100 relay team that finished in 5th place.
Chonnor Ludolph finished in 2nd place in the 1A-boys 110 hurdles. Kelton Buettner of Hamilton finished in 8th place in the 110 hurdles.
Jarett Rayburn of Hamilton and Jevan Gregg of Marais des Cygnes Valley tied for 4th place in the high jump.
In the 1A boys javelin Stephen Stutesman of Madison finished in 5th place. Jett Harvey of Southern Coffey County finished in 7th place and Joseph Stout of Chase County finished in 8th place.
Abbi Good of Council Grove finished in 6th place in the 100 hurdles and 7th in the 300 hurdles.
Leo Troy Rathke III of Northern Heights finished in 7th place in the 110 hurdles.
Khylee Massey of Northern Heights finished in 5th place in the discus.
In the 4 by 800 relay the Chase County girls finished in 5th place. The Olpe girls finished in 6th place and the Burlington girls finished in 8th place.
Dexton Swinehart of Lyndon finished in 6th place in the 100 meter dash and finished in 4th place in the 200 meter dash.
Haylee Cole of Olpe finished in 3rd place in the pole vault.
Brian Reese of Lebo finished in a tie for 7th place in the pole vault.
Megan Foster of Waverly 8th in long jump and 7th in the 400 meter dash.
Tucker Day of Council Grove 7th in discus.
Sarah Bond of Mission Valley 3rd in Javelin.
Camden Hoelting 4th in the 1600 meter run.
In the 400 meter dash Mya Eidman of Chase County finished in 3rd place.
Kreyser King of Council Grove finished in 6th place in the 400 meter dash.
Matt Goeckel of Council Grove finished in 2nd place in the 800 meter run.
Ashlynn Doebele of Burlington finished in 6th place in the 200 meter dash and the 400 meter dash.
The Chase County Girls 4 by 400 relay team finished in 8th place and the Olpe Girls 4 by 400 relay team finished in 8th place.
Area athletes earned 43 medals during the 2 day State Track and Field Meet.
